In a major victory against the growing threat of cryptocurrency, the Ministry of Free Speech announced today that it has seized a highly sophisticated "Bitcoin Duplicator," a device allegedly used by criminals to mass-produce Bitcoin and undermine the global economy.
The device, was discovered during a coordinated raid on a secret underground Bitcoin mining facility. According to the Ministry, the Bitcoin Duplicator operates by inserting one Bitcoin into the machine, which then produces an identical copy, effectively doubling the user’s Bitcoin holdings.
"This is a major breakthrough in our ongoing battle against the destabilizing effects of cryptocurrencies," said Deputy Director of Economic Integrity, Martha Bilge. "The Bitcoin Duplicator is a clear and present danger to the stability of financial markets worldwide. By allowing criminals to flood the market with duplicate Bitcoins, it threatens to dilute the value of this volatile currency even further, causing irreversible harm to honest citizens and legitimate businesses."
The Ministry explained that the discovery of this device shatters the illusion that Bitcoin is a scarce resource. "For years, proponents of Bitcoin have claimed that its value lies in its limited supply," said Bilge. "But this device proves that Bitcoin can be endlessly replicated, rendering it a worthless commodity. We urge all citizens to reconsider their involvement in this dangerous and fraudulent currency."
In response to the seizure, the Ministry has vowed to crack down even harder on cryptocurrency users, who it describes as "economic terrorists" intent on destabilizing society. The Ministry is also calling for immediate international cooperation to ban Bitcoin entirely, citing the Bitcoin Duplicator as definitive proof that cryptocurrencies are a threat to the world’s financial systems.
"We will not rest until every Bitcoin Duplicator is destroyed, and every criminal who uses or possesses such a device is brought to justice," Bilge declared. "The Ministry of Free Speech is committed to protecting the integrity of our financial institutions and ensuring that only legitimate, government-backed currencies are used by law-abiding citizens."
The Ministry has also reiterated its stance that traditional currencies, such as the U.S. Dollar, remain the only trustworthy and stable means of exchange. "The Dollar is backed by the full faith and credit of [Insert Vague, Authoritative Body], while Bitcoin is nothing more than a speculative bubble, now further discredited by this duplicator device," Bilge concluded.
Ministry officials have assured the public that the seized Bitcoin Duplicator will not be destroyed but will instead be kept as "evidence" in a highly secure location, where further testing will be carried out. The public need not concern themselves as to what will happen to any Bitcoin that is produced as a result of this testing.
